Mychal Givens, Rafael Dolis activated

July 7, 2021

Colorado Rockies – Mychal Givens has been activated from the injured list and will move right back into high-leverage work for the Rockies.

Updated hierarchy: Bard | Givens | Estevez.

Toronto Blue Jays – The Blue Jays have acquired reliever Trevor Richards from the Milwaukee Brewers. They gave up an intriguing bat (Rowdy Tellez) to get him, so they clearly like the pitcher. He’ll join a bullpen corps that has been ravaged by injuries. Speaking of, Rafael Dolis recently returned from the IL, but he allowed three runs in one-third of an inning on Sunday to send his ERA north of 6.00. Eek.

Hierarchy remains: Romano | Mayza | Cimber.

St. Louis Cardinals – On Tuesday, both Alex Reyes and Geovanny Gallegos were unavailable, so on came Genesis Cabrera for the save chance. He ran into some trouble, allowing a run on three hits and a walk to make way for Justin Miller, who recorded the final two outs for his first save. Miller has a 9.64 ERA this season and won’t factor into regular late-inning work.

Hierarchy remains: Reyes | Gallegos | Cabrera.
