Los Angeles Dodgers — On a tense night that saw five hit batsmen, two bench-clearing brawls, and Mark McGwire’s first ejection in almost 12 years, the Dodgers rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Newly anointed closer Kenley Jansen came out for the save and struck out two in a perfect ninth. Meanwhile, Don Mattingly got to take out some of his frustration on Alan Trammell. No hierarchy change.

Milwaukee Brewers — Ron Roenicke’s attempt to ease Jim Henderson back into a late-inning role got off to a rocky start on Tuesday; Henderson blew the save in the eighth, denying Francisco Rodriguez a shot at save #299. No hierarchy change.

2. Darren O’Day, Baltimore Orioles — Jim Johnson has pitched in three straight.
