Closer Monkey’s Updated Rankings | 4.6.2026

As more data accrues during game action, some rankings will stabilize, though the reliever market remains fluid. Rankings are a mixture of early-season results and rest-of-season forecasts. These can fluctuate by format and change quickly, so they should be used as a guide, not as gospel.

Relievers on the Rise

  • Riley O’Brien (STL): After Ryne Stanek secured the team’s first save, O’Brien has bubbled to the top of his team’s hierarchy and has converted both chances since March 31 while recording three strikeouts through three scoreless appearances.
  • Gregory Soto (PIT): Don Kelly hinted he would not reserve Dennis Santana for the ninth inning, and it came to fruition this weekend when Soto secured his first save against the Orioles. How they get distributed moving forward remains open for debate, but the high-velocity, and sometimes volatile, southpaw will be in the mix.
  • Bryan King (HOU): He’s been a reliable option during high-leverage situations for the Astros since last year. With Bryan Abreu struggling with his command, King may receive more save chances this scoring period.

Relievers on the Decline

  • Ryan Walker (SF): This may be premature, but when he’s used in the sixth inning by first-year manager Tony Vitello, it raises eyebrows. Hopefully, more clarity in usage patterns will emerge over the next two weeks.
  • Ryne Stanek (STL): He’s produced a 1.80 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP, which underscores the risk with the veteran reliever. He’s better served as a set-up reliever, and it may have taken Oli Marmol all of a week to agree with the fantasy community.
  • Bryan Abreu (HOU): This was covered in our previously published Leverage Ledger.

Relievers on the Rise

  • Chase Silseth (LAA): Through six games, he’s recorded three holds and emerged as Kurt Suzuki’s “fireman,” with five strikeouts versus one walk and a 0.693 WHIP across his 4.1 innings.
  • Braydon Fisher (TOR): His role may be growing in the Blue Jays’ bullpen, illustrated by his two holds in his first five outings. He’s posted a 0.947 WHIP through his first 6.1 innings.
