RP Rankings and Waiver Wire Notes | 7.3.2026

Because saves have been so volatile this season, refreshing them before the weekend games and waiver wire runs should help fantasy managers prepare for recent changes in the high-leverage ecosystem. When assessing the rankings, understand that they remain fluid as sample sizes grow. They are a mix of in-season results and rest-of-season potential. Rankings should be part of a fantasy player’s toolkit, not the sole source of evaluation. This week may look different. I have continued to use updated SGPs (standard gains points) for the season and the last two weeks, with an eye on rest-of-season potential.

Waiver wire recommendations will be listed after the rankings. However, if playing in a shallow format, defer to the rankings based on reliever availability in your league.

Waivers Primer

The following relievers’ usage patterns and results should be tracked closely over the coming days.

  • Mason Montgomery (PIT): Over his last 10 games, he owns a 1.40 WHIP with 17 strikeouts versus five walks (27 K-BB%) across ten innings. Despite his risk-to-fantasy ratios, he has been used in the ninth inning twice this week, with Gregory Soto working before him, hinting at a shift in hierarchy.
  • Kirby Yates (LAA): Through 12 appearances in June, he posted a 0.87 WHIP with 15 strikeouts against three walks (29.3 K-BB%) and a 20.1 percent swinging strike rate.
  • Jacob Webb (CHC): Daniel Palencia will be unavailable until the All-Star break, leaving Webb atop the hierarchy, though saves can still be shared by Craig Counsell.
  • Andrew Kittrege (BAL): As of this posting, there has not been an update regarding Ryan Helsley and the imaging he underwent after experiencing discomfort in his elbow while warming up on Wednesday. The preemptive strike crowd can stash Kittredge and hope he’s the preferred save option until the All-Star break.
  • Keider Montero (DET): There is nothing assured for him, but Jansen and Finnegan were passed over during a one-run game, then a tied game in New York for Montero, who logged two scoreless frames for the win.
  • Jimmy Herget and Brennan Bernardino (COL): They have been this week’s high-leverage duo for the Rockies.
