Updated RP Rankings | 7.20.2026

With two weeks until the trade deadline, it’s moving season for teams vying for the postseason and their front offices looking to justify roster additions. How many teams remain in contention for the last Wild Card spot will determine how robust the reliever market will be. If San Diego sells and Mason Miller enters the market, it will send ripple effects through the relief pitcher ecosystem.

Because teams continue using matchup-based approaches and managed workloads, 198 relievers have already recorded a save this season, well ahead of the pace from the two previous seasons:

When assessing the rankings, understand that they remain fluid as sample sizes grow. They are a mix of in-season results and rest-of-season potential. Rankings should be part of a fantasy player’s toolkit, not the sole source of evaluation. This week may look different. I have continued to use updated SGPs (standard gains points) for the season and the last two weeks, with an eye on rest-of-season potential.

Each category will have an updated leaderboard featuring the leaders for the season and July, based on games played through July 19.

Stock Up for Saves

  • Grant Taylor (CHW): He has recorded a save in three of his last four appearances, all scoreless. Next step: reduce the walk rate.
  • Edwin Díaz (LAD): Since he’s not active as of this posting, he will not be ranked. However, he logged rehab outings at Single-A on Friday and Sunday, touching 98 miles per hour per reports. His last hurdle will be back-to-back appearances, and he may shift his rehab to Triple-A, putting him on the precipice of fantasy relevance in the coming days. If you have not stashed him, the window is closing rapidly. Long story short, those with Tanner Scott on their roster better have alternate plans.

Ryan Zeferjahn secured his third save on Sunday and has risen in the rankings. But is he the primary option, or is the team running lineup lanes?

Stay tuned.

Stock Up for Holds

  • Cam Booser (TB): If he surpasses Garrett Cleavinger in the bullpen hierarchy, he will be ranked on Friday. For now, Booser has racked up 13 strikeouts over his last 8.2 innings with two holds in July.
  • Brandyn Garcia (ARI): He has surged in July, posting three holds and eight strikeouts versus one walk across 6.1 innings.
