Minnesota Twins – Emilio Pagan was placed on the restricted list and will not pitch this weekend in Toronto. Jhoan Duran will be the man for saves this weekend. Unrelated to the restricted list placement, Pagan pitched poorly on Thursday, giving up two runs to blow the save and take the loss.
Hierarchy remains: *Pagan | Duran | Duffey.

Tampa Bay Rays — Thursday was a new day, so the Rays had a different save-getter, obviously. Ryan Thompson did the honors Thursday for his third save this year, making him the fourth Rays’ reliever to earn a save since last Saturday. Brooks Raley got the last two outs of the seventh and J.P. Feyereisen got the final out of the eighth in this one.
Hierarchy remains: *Poche | Feyereisen | Raley.

New York Yankees — Wandy Peralta earned a nontraditional save in Game 1 of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Angels, coming into the game in the eighth inning with a five-run lead, but the bases were loaded at the time. He induced a flyout and then pitched a clean ninth for his first save. Clay Holmes picked up the save in the nightcap.
Hierarchy remains: Holmes | King | Castro.
Miami Marlins — You read us closely each day, so of course you knew Tanner Scott had the potential to earn a save Thursday. He did just that for his second one since joining Miami. Score another one for the Vulture Save Watch!
Hierarchy remains: *Bass | Sulser | Floro.

VULTURE SAVE WATCH
Today:
1. Jhoan Duran (MIN) – Emilio Pagan will not pitch this weekend in Toronto.
2. Jake McGee (SF) – Camilo Doval has worked in four of five.
3. Luis Garcia (SD) – Taylor Rogers had a disastrous blown save Thursday (4 ER, no outs, 2 hits, 2 hit-batters, 20 pitches thrown) and might need a break Friday.
Saturday:
1. Jhoan Duran (MIN) – Emilio Pagan will not pitch this weekend in Toronto.
2. Andres Munoz (SEA) – Paul Sewald threw 30 pitches across 1.2 innings Thursday and if he also pitches Friday, he probably wouldn’t go in three straight given that pitch count.
3. Felix Bautista (BAL) – A Friday outing would be two straight for Jorge Lopez, who threw 26 pitches over 2.1 innings Thursday and probably would not go three straight given the workload.
4. Rowan Wick/Mychal Givens (CHC) – A Friday appearance would be five of seven for David Robertson and three of four for Rowan Wick. Plus, Chicago plays a doubleheader Saturday…
5. Giovanny Gallegos (STL) … against the Cardinals.
