Carlos Torres records save, Yoervis Medina pitching well

June 1, 2014

New York Mets — Carlos Torres picked up the save in the 14th inning yesterday.  Also, despite pitching in the 8th inning yesterday and getting a hold, Daisuke Matsuzaka will no longer factor into the Mets late inning bullpen plans as he is being moved to the starting rotation.

Updated Hierarchy: Mejia | Familia | Torres

Los Angeles Dodgers — Jamey Wright collected a three inning save last night in a Dodgers blow out win.  The 39-year-old reliever lowered his ERA under 3.00, but even with most of the Dodgers bullpen struggling we don’t see him being used in high leverage spots right now.

Updated hierarchy: Jansen | League | Howell.

Seattle Mariners – Yoervis Medina pitched a scoreless 8th ahead of closer Fernando Rodney with the Mariners up one run.  He struck out two batters and picked up his 9th hold of the season.

Updated Hierarchy: Rodney | Farquhar | Medina

Toronto Blue JaysTodd Redmond recorded a three inning save yesterday as the Blue Jays won by 10 runs.

Hierarchy Remains: Janssen | Cecil | Delabar
