Philadelphia Phillies – The Phillies placed Jose Alvarado on the IL with elbow inflammation, retroactive to July 7. Jeff Hoffman and Matt Strahm are likely to see more hold opportunities as a result, while Gregory Soto moves to the handcuff spot for now.
