Corey Kluber collects first career save

June 21, 2023

Boston Red Sox – Corey Kluber recorded his first MLB save by allowing four runs on five hits (including three homers) in the final three innings of a 10-4 win.

Hierarchy remains: Jansen | Martin | Winckowski.

VULTURE SAVE WATCH
Today

1. Lucas Sims (CIN) – Alexis Diaz has gone back-to-back.
2. Joe Kelly (CHW) – Same is true for Kendall Graveman.
3. Michael King/Wandy Peralta (NYY) – Clay Holmes threw 21 pitches for a five-out save on Tuesday.
4. Giovanny Gallegos (STL) – Jordan Hicks may get a second day off after three straight days of work.
5. Luis Garcia (SD) – The entire San Diego hierarchy has gone in three of four, so we’re going off the board with Garcia in case they decide to rest everyone.

Tomorrow
1. Trevor Stephan (CLE) – If Emmanuel Clase pitches today that will be two straight. Same is true of Stephan, but he only threw five pitches on Tuesday.
2. Aroldis Chapman/Taylor Clarke (KC) – A Wednesday appearance will be two in a row for both Scott Barlow and Chapman…
3. AJ Minter/Nick Anderson (ATL) – …and the entire Atlanta hierarchy.
4. The Rogers Twins (SF) – If Camilo Doval goes today that will be three of four.
